Embodied Healing

Integral and Transpersonal Therapies

Welcome Wayfinder

Perhaps it’s time for something totally different to find your path to sustained well being. Both integral and transpersonal psychology represent inclusive and supportive ways of looking at a person within a larger set of structures in an effort to help both the client and also the society as a whole.

Transpersonal psychology, or spiritual psychology, integrates the spiritual aspects of human experience within the frame of psychology. Integral psychology focus on how to become healthy individuals and achieve well-being through growth and creativity. Integral and Transpersonal Psychology are both slightly alternative and emergent fields of inquiry in mental health. Within this disciplines, it is possible to have a broader conversation of what it means to be well and how to get there.

My practice of these fields also includes the intersection between the greater global struggles and the individual, as the individual’s well-being is tied to the greater whole and vice versa. One’s wellness cannot be separated from the environment which one inhabits. In this sense, this way of practicing counseling is intended to be liberatory.

Hi! I’m Becky Flowers

I came into counseling practice and psychology first from studying theater and art. Later, I became a teacher, then a counselor.

The connection between these fields is an interest in spirituality, human potential, and what structures or interventions can facilitate human potential.

I have an MFA and LCSW. My clinical orientation is trauma-focused, utilizing CBT, EMDR, and art interventions.

I am also a twice-exceptional, neurodivergent person. I’m well equipped to help clients who are gifted, and /or with learning or attention challenges.

I seek to create a just space for all people. Additionally, I seek to be spiritually and culturally competent and welcome diversity in all its forms.

I love learning, reading, and writing and am currently enrolled in Interfaith Seminary.

I also maintain a creative practice while gaining certifications in Art Therapy.

But the biggest most important thing about me is that I’m a believer …. in life, in liberty, and in you.

Paths to Healing

  • Coaching

Coaching works on the literal level of engagement and can be very useful for problem solving and goal setting. I provide targeted coaching on literal, practical issues using techniques from Ericksonian, Transpersonal , Traditional, and ADHD Coaching.

  • Clinical Social Work

Clinical Social Work works on the emotional level of engagement. I provide clinical social work to help addresses emotional concerns from a mind-body and trauma-focused perspective. Research and training in this area include hypnosis, Polyvagal theory, mindfulness EMDR, as well as trauma-focused CBT. I’m additionally interested in feminist therapy, racial trauma healing, and the impact of society and culture on the wellness of the individual.

  • Expressive Arts

Expressive Arts focuses on the mythic-poetic level of engagement and helps to heal non-verbal spaces. As an artist myself, I see the therapeutic value of arts to imagine possibility of of healing and transcendence, a way of making meaning from difficult experiences, and a tremendous vehicle to regulate the nervous system and attention. Modalities used in this are are intermodal and drawing from all arts:song, dance, paint, write, film, and more.

  • Energy Healing

Energy Healing focuses on the spiritual, energetic, or transpersonal level of engagement. I can hold space for your faith tradition as part of the therapeutic dialogue as well as offer some modalities to assist with spiritual problem solving. These can include prayer, visualization, mediation, ceremony work, or light touch energy work modalities of Pscyh-K and Body Talk.

About the practice

This practice is centered around offering services to individuals and groups, and also to the larger community through workshops, programs, and scholarly research.

The principle goal of the practice is to help integrate mind, body, and sprit for social and individual trauma healing. That looks like a lot of different things and can take the form of the four avenues: coaching, clinical social work, art expression, and energy work.

To me, spirituality and psychology go hand in hand for healing but only in the most open and all- inclusive ways. I welcome your interpretation of these words, your guidance, and your needs. I seek to be a true ally and companion on your journey to finding healing and meaning on your own terms.
